Judy Hernandez is the Transition Coordinator for students aged 21 to
26 at the Jo Brighton Skills Center, a center based facility serving
17 school districts focusing on vocational/work and social skills
for students. She has worked for the School District of the City of
Wyandotte for over 25 years. Judy has extensive experience working
with community service agencies such as Community Mental Health and
post-school service provider agencies.
Judy is married and has four sons. She
has experienced special education services from the parent’s
viewpoint as one of her sons has received services for a hearing
impairment throughout his school years. This has given Judy an even
greater passion, insight and commitment for quality Transition
Planning for students with special needs. Judy also enjoys
decorating, shopping, baking, traveling and spending time with
family and friends.
